Når vi har gått frå Reykjavik Roasters, seier Jon at han testar ut ei ny haldning. Vere open, tilbakelent, klar for å møte det som kjem. Glømme litt det der protestantiske, alltid arbeidande.

Mette har tenkt sitt før ho drog til Island ho også. Dette er ein mulegheit. Noko bra kan komme til den som posisjonerer seg rett, og er på rett plass til rett tid. Skal vi gå ut på byen no? Heller enn å gå tilbake til hybelen og ta kvelden?

Ideen min er nok eit uttrykk for den same protestantiske påverknaden som Jon snakkar om. Eg har jo ikkje lyst til å drikke meir no. Har ikkje lyst inn på ein bråkete pub. Men eg trur at det er forventa av meg – og at det er flinkt av meg – å presse på, strekke grensene, gå ut, drikke, vere galen og grenselaus. Det er då mulegheitene plutseleg kjem. Kanskje, kanskje ikkje. 

Eg treng ikkje oppleve meir i dag. Det som Angela sa, det som Jon sa, og det at Jon og Angela såg ut til å meine at dette møtet var ein god idé. Dét vil eg ikkje glømme. Men nesten alt er forgjengeleg, seier Carlo Rovelli. Alt, unnteke interaksjonen. Erkjenningar kjennest òg som noko ingen kan ta ifrå meg.

Come to Surtsey Performance Lecture at Nordic House Reykjavik, 15th of August 2019!

The Norwegian-Icelandic performance production Surtsey (2020) kicks off in Reykjavik, with an open lecture-performance by prize-winning director Jon Tombre.

Surtsey is a multidisciplinary theatre production. The piece is under development and has estimated premiere in September 2020 at Haustscena (NO). It will be a site-specific, music-based piece for two soloists and possibly local choirs of adolescent people. The story: Two young people set out in a little boat from Heimaey. An underwater volcanic eruption changes their trip and ultimately how they look at themselves and each other. The themes circling around growing up, creating identity, transformations. The final (and multidisciplinary piece) will be produced in 2020, with shows in i.e. Ålesund (NO), Oslo (NO) and Reykjavik (IS).

The lecture and workshop will be in English. Free entrance.
